All Levels Flow

“STRETCHY FLOW”  This is a multi-level “beginner friendly” class where those with some past yoga experience will have the opportunity to challenge themselves beyond the basics, while others new to the practice will be given modifications to the poses as needed.  The class will incorporate gentle warm-up stretches and move into flowing posture sequences.  This class teaches Sun Salutations and a wide variety of standing and floor postures.  Alignment in the postures and proper breathing will be emphasized.

Chair Yoga

Restorative Yoga

CHAIR YOGA allows individuals with certain mobility issues and other physical limitations to receive the same healing and restorative benefits of a traditional yoga class. Through the use of a chair, participants perform a variety of modified yoga poses. Gentle stretches, forward bends, and twists, as well as simple leg lifts and arm movements, can be adapted to accommodate individual abilities. Standing poses to increase balance and strength are done with the support of the chair. At times during the class if there are participants who are able and wish to lower themselves to the floor on the mat (perhaps with the assistance of the chair), they can be given the opportunity to try various poses while others are performing similar ones seated in the chair. CHAIR YOGA is an enjoyable and relaxing way to energize the body by improving circulation, range of motion and vitality.

Level 2 Vinyasa

Vinyasa Level 2 Vinyasa is a class geared towards students with previous yoga experience who are looking to further develop their practice. This is more of a strength based flow with the option to incorporate advanced postures, arm balances and inversions. Proper alignment is strongly emphasized and breath work is further developed.

Power Yoga

Power yoga is a powerful flowing practice that focuses on synchronizing breath with movement. It is an offshoot of Ashtanga Yoga and has many of the same qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased strength and flexibility, and moving mindfully with the breath, but gives the flexibility to teach any poses in any order making every class different. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced practitioners receive direction to create poses that work for their individual level. This allows all practitioners to be challenged and find their own personal edge together in the same class.

The intention is to relax as far as possible into the postures, using little physical effort. The mind then can focuses on the breath in order to cultivate mindfulness and release tension from the body. This relaxing and slow paced class with the whole sequence using as few as five or six postures which are held for long periods of time. Props will also be used in order to allow the body to be in the most comfortable, supported position possible. Gentle music will be played, and the practice may be combined with guided meditation.

Restorative yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows the heart rate, regulates the blood pressure and relaxes the body and mind. As such, Restorative yoga is considered particularly beneficial for those suffering from anxiety, insomnia or headaches, as well as everyday stress and related conditions. It is recommended to add a restorative yoga class into your yoga routine to deepen your practice. Restorative yoga is believed to boost the immune system and accelerate the body's natural healing process. This class will also offer Certified Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils for deepened relaxation and healing.
